The Coop

We have an old little greenhouse that came with the property. It has a clear plastic roof that has been getting worse. Several holes from frozen pine cones hitting it and the sun was eating it too. Here is a picture when it still looked somewhat fine. It had only one whole, but it did start to show discoloration in areas where it would crack later.

The old greenhouse has been dismantled and a foundation for the addition has been poured.

New framework is in place. Inside you see dirt which will be covered with pavers. Our in ground sprinkler valves and pipes are inside so we need access. Pouring concrete would not be a good idea.

Exterior siding and window frames are in place.

Roofing is on, windows are in place, doors are in and solar lights are mounted. Interior still needs to get insulated, paneled, and electric needs to get done. We did reuse the windows from the old structure and some of the fencing came from other parts of the property. Overall we spend about 1200 dollars in material and 2 weeks of work on our end. All what is now needed is a paint job to match the rest of the shop. Overall size is 2 rooms each 8x7’. The outdoor area is 16x10 feet.
